Trebević is one of the closest Olympic mountains to Sarajevo. It's slopes literally begins from the middle of Sarajevo and it is one of the most favorite cycling destinations after the work in summer or during the short winter days.
Vranica is one of the most beautiful mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina and highest one in the region of Bosnia. Free of mines, with a beautiful landscapes, this is a wonderful destination for MTB cyclists or mountaineers.
More than a 1.500 cyclists from all over the Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad came yesterday to Sarajevo to attend the best organized Giro di Sarajevo event so far. Great atmosphere filled the streets of Sarajevo while cyclist ride from Dobrinja to Vijećnica library on the main streets with the police escort.
On behalf of civic organization Giro di Sarajevo we are happy to announce that the traditional cycling event Giro di Sarajevo is being held once again this year.
Sarajevo is one of the cities that has a beautiful places for outdoor sports near the city center and one of them is most certainly Trebević mountain that is suitable for mountain cycling, mountaineering or simple relaxing in the evergreen woods.
Krivaja is a river located in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, long some 70 kilometers on it's way from Olovo to Zavidovići, that is famous for it's clean water, beautiful canyon and possibilities for rafting and fishing.
Zelengora mountain with it's lakes, pastures and planes is one of the most beautiful destinations for MTB cycling in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prove for that could be the fact that 35 cyclists attended this tour three years ago.
This is a first report for this season about MTB cycling in Sarajevo region so we could say that the days of active MTB cycling in Sarajevo is ahead of us. Numerous mountains and hills around Sarajevo makes this town a desirable destination for MTB cycling lovers.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is proclaimed for best mountain biking (MTB) adventure destination in 2012 by the prominent magazine National Geographic. This award is well deserved, but little known in foreign cycling circles.
