Rick Steves is one of the most prominent American writers of European travel guidebooks and hosts of travel shows on public television and public radio. Since 1973 he's spent 120 days a year in Europe and today he employs 80 people at his Europe Through the Back Door office where he produces over 50 guidebooks on European travel.Rick included Mostar as one of the must see places in his new television serial about favorite tourist destinations in Europe.

His serial under the name "Hidden Europe" besides Mostar includes San Sebastian in Spain, Lucca I Civita di Bagnoregio in Italy, Česky Krumlov in Czech, Tangier in Morocco, Hallstatt in Austria, etc.. Broadcast of the show should begin in March of the 2012 on American public television network.
Steves says that the travel through the Europe is so exciting because of specific mixture of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. That element is specially visible in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mostar, so he recommends Americans to visit Mostar when they came to Europe. He is personally fascinated with Mostar for it's past that can teach future generations lot of things.
