Trebević is one of the closest Olympic mountains to Sarajevo. It's slopes literally begins from the middle of Sarajevo and it is one of the most favorite cycling destinations after the work in summer or during the short winter days.
Vranica is one of the most beautiful mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina and highest one in the region of Bosnia. Free of mines, with a beautiful landscapes, this is a wonderful destination for MTB cyclists or mountaineers.

This is a first report for this season about MTB cycling in Sarajevo region so we could say that the days of active MTB cycling in Sarajevo is ahead of us. Numerous mountains and hills around Sarajevo makes this town a desirable destination for MTB cycling lovers.

Weather forecast was not so good that day so we could not decide where to go, but one was sure - don't go far from Sarajevo. Final decision was to go by car to Cavljak and after that go with bikes over Bukovik mountain to Skakavac waterfall.
This was one of the most exciting bicycle rides of this year and it's happened mainly in the Misoca river canyon. Our journey started in Sarajevo sometimes in May 2011 and the goal was to visit Misoca canyon on our bikes. Five of the participants met in Sarajevo and took a bus to the Nisici heights where was our starting point.

Because of it's proximity to the urban area of Sarajevo and impressive flora with tick evergreen woods it was a famous place for weekend family trips. Before the war it was possible to visit this mountain by using cable railway that was 1700 meter long.
Bitovnja is a mountain in Herzegovina located 12 kilometer north from Konjic with it's highest peak Lisin, 1742 meter above the sea surface. Mountain is located on a meeting point between Mediterranean and Continental climate and it's southern side is barren from vegetation while it's northern side is covered with forests and woods.
