From Čavljak to Skakavac waterfal

Weather forecast was not so good that day so we could not decide where to go, but one was sure - don't go far from Sarajevo. Final decision was to go by car to Cavljak and after that go with bikes over Bukovik mountain to Skakavac waterfall.

That wasn't so far and in every moment you could go back to your car. We arrived at Cavljak by car and we were already at 1200 meter above sea level. Immediately we were overwhelmed by fresh mountain air and beautiful panorama of Sarajevo below us. We started with pedaling on steep hill, but soon after we entered nice meadows surrounded by evergreen forests. On our right side we could see trebevic, Bjelasnica and Igman mountains.

After a few kilometers my friend's bike broke down and he was forced to turn back. Since we wasn't far from our cars he returned back alone. I decided to continue with a new goal in my mind and that was a visit to Skakavac waterfall and turning back home from there without returning to our starting point. At the end it shows up that was a good decision since the trail wasn't so hard and my way down to the Sarajevo become much longer and exciting.

After passing by the Crepoljsko peak high some 1500 meters I entered protected area of the Skakavac waterfall. The road was blocked by the ramp that prevent cars from entering the area. There also begin thick evergreen forest where you can hear only the birds singing.

At the descent I visited the top of the Skakavac waterfall and then headed to Sarajevo over Nahorevo village.
