There is a nice asphalt road to the village, but we wanted some more adventure and we decided to go to the village over unpaved gravel road which is not used by cars after the main road was asphalted. Our tour started at Igman mountain where we left our car. Right after leaving the car we could feel the difference in the temperature level. It was hot, but not so unpleasant like Sarajevo. We headed to Babin do, famous sky center on Bjelasnica mountain, and after that we could enjoy in the silence of the mountain because there was no people and cars - everybody left to the lakes and Adriatic sea.
Don't miss the strawberries season
There is around 13 kilometer ride from Babin dol to the village of Sabici where is located a small area with old tombstones called "stecak". We passed by it and continue our trip to the nearby village Rakitnica where the asphalt road ends. We take some pictures of the magnificent Treskavica mountain and take a rest on the Pijevac - small water creek with cold water even in summer. From that place we could enjoy the wilderness, woods, creeks and birds. We haven't met anybody except some lonely shepherd that was taking a nap below a tree while we could not see any of his sheep around. We often pulled up by the road because of strawberries that lured us.
Suddenly there was a Visocica mountain in front of us and quickly we were sitting on the banks of Tusilski water creek. Another opportunity for relaxing legs in the cold water and quick lunch before we continue to Sinanovici village. After it we passed by the upper part of Rakitnica river and went back to the beginning of our tour. By that we closed a circle of a little more than 50 kilometers with combined altitude difference of 1000 meters.
That was a lovely journey and quick escape from the hot summer day. Alright, it was hot too, but not so hot as it was back home in Sarajevo :)

That was a very hot summer day in Sarajevo and thermometer was showing that the temperature was around 36 degrees Celsius. Considering the fact that temperature decrees with higher altitude only logical destination for cycling was in the mountains. Choice for that day was Sinanovici - remote village located between Bjelasnica and Visocica mountains.
